For it's time, Commodore's successor to the venerable C64 was one of the most graphically impressive systems available as either a PC or a console, which made gaming on the Amiga's primary allure. Even though the first Amiga came out the same year as the original Macintosh from Apple, the line actually became one of the best selling PCs of the late 1980's. Unfortunately it couldn't keep pace as newer models were released and a repurposed Amiga game console was a direct contributor to Commodore's bankruptcy in 1994.
